Hope for the future.

There is hope in the state of Michigan, educationally speaking. The Governor just passed the education reform that was definitely needed here. The thing that gives me encouragement the most is the part about opening up cyber-schools for those students who have dropped out for various reasons. I understand school can be rough. Socially and mentally it is indeed a lot for most kids to absorb, even in 4 years. The idea of a cyber school seems to me one of the best and most encouraging ideas for future students.

To think that kids that dropped out for any of the myriad reasons be it having to work to help support a family, or lack of focus, or just the idea that they just can't do it anymore; can have this place to go where they can be at ease shows me potential. I think this can be a great resource for both students and educators alike to help these kids get an education they deserve. I for one wish this was around when i was in school. To think, a place you can go to online to get assignments and maybe even have a social chat room for fellow "classmates" would do wonders for the self esteem of a teenager that lost his way. This is definitely something to look forward to in the future.
